Headstock

Also known as headstock, its main task is to pass the rotary motion transmitted by the main motor through a series of speed change mechanisms to make the spindle obtain the required different speeds of positive and negative rotation, and at the same time, the headstock separates part of the power to transmit the motion to the feed box. Feed box

Also known as the tool box, the feed box is equipped with a speed change mechanism for feed movement. Adjust its speed change mechanism to obtain the required feed amount or pitch, and transmit the movement to the tool rest through the light screw or lead screw for cutting.

Lead screw and light screw

It is used to connect the feed box and the chute box, and transmit the motion and power of the feed box to the chute box, so that the chute box can obtain longitudinal linear motion. The lead screw is specially set up for turning various threads. When turning other surfaces of the workpiece, only the smooth screw is used instead of the lead screw. Students should combine the contents of the chute box to distinguish between the light screw and the lead screw.

Chute box

It is the operation box of lathe feed movement, which is equipped with a mechanism to turn the rotary motion of the light screw and the lead screw into the linear motion of the tool rest. The longitudinal feed motion, transverse feed motion and rapid movement of the tool rest are realized through the light screw transmission, and the tool rest is driven by the lead screw to make the longitudinal linear motion, so as to facilitate thread cutting.

There are two layers of skateboards (medium and small skateboards), bed saddle and tool rest body. It is used to install the turning tool and move it longitudinally, transversely or obliquely.

Tailstock

It is installed on the guide rail of the bed and moves longitudinally along this guide rail to adjust its working position. The tailstock is mainly used to install the rear center to support longer workpieces, and can also be installed with drills, reamers, etc. for hole processing.

Bed

It is a large basic part of the lathe with guide rails (mountain guide rails and flat guide rails) with high accuracy requirements. It is used to support and connect all parts of the lathe, and ensure that all parts have accurate relative positions during operation.
